Within two days they had gathered 20 fine arts students, got the attention of the local media, and organized their first rally at the local ISD administration building. After successfully opting out of standardized testing she made her transition into homeschooling, where it became possible for her two passions to meet: art and activism.

    Anna Clendening
    Singer
From the moment pop singer-songwriter Anna Clendening appeared on the scene, her music hit home with thousands—and very quickly, millions—of people. Granted, that moment came when she least expected it: One night about five years ago, at home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Clendening recorded a video of herself singing an acoustic version of “Gas Pedal,” the monster hit from Bay Area rapper Sage the Gemini, and casually posted it online. It quickly went viral, so she began making more videos and eventually garnered over 2.5 million followers online.

Less than a year later, she snagged her first major television appearance: competing on America’s Got Talent. (Her audition also went viral: onstage, she bravely described overcoming crippling anxiety to appear that day, then wowed the judges with a chill-inducing rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” on her acoustic guitar.)

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & American Studies with Honors, Kristofor initially desired to be an environmental lawyer as he understood even then that sustainability is one the biggest issues of our time. However, after looking at the rise of the farm-to-table movement in the culinary industry, Kristofor thought about conquering the impossible by taking the practice to the next level with one of his favorite foods: sushi. In 2008 Kristofor set out on a mission to build the most innovative and creative hospitality group in America, the Sustainable Restaurant Group (SRG). SRG is the living embodiment of this mission, whereby the environment, people, community, and profits are all accounted for at the highest level, in unison. Today, under Kristofor's leadership, SRG runs two successful concepts over nine locations, including its flagship brand Bamboo Sushi; the world's first certified sustainable sushi restaurant. Over the next two years, the company will double in size, with ten more Bamboo Sushi locations slated to open with upcoming locations in San Francisco, Seattle and Arizona.

The National Council training in 2017 inspired her to do two major things. First, she launched a campaign called “Project Confidence”, which was geared towards shifting culture around school dress code from something negative to something positive and empowering for young girls. Second, she realized that education could be as inspiring as her Earth Guardians work which propelled her to leave public High School and begin a new self-learning journey.

    Nick Murphy fka Chet Faker
    Musician
In the making of his sophomore album Run Fast Sleep Naked, Nick Murphy spent four years traveling the world solo with a microphone in his suitcase, recording his vocal tracks in whichever spaces and environments most inspired him. During that time, the Melbourne-bred singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist formerly known as Chet Faker immersed himself in intense self-examination, a process aided by his reading of Joseph Campbell's theories of the artist's shaman-like role in modern society.

With its penetrating songwriting and kaleidoscopic palette, Run Fast Sleep Naked is a hypnotically candid document of that searching, an album equally informed by constant questioning and steadily arriving at fragments of truth.

Their major label debut LP, 2013’s Waiting For The Dawn, saw immediate success with the hit single San Francisco. The record - which focused on the joy of bringing people together - immediately connected in a cynical world and the band quickly found themselves playing to sold out clubs around the US and inundated by requests for press, sponsorships and partnerships. Appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Firefly, Osheaga, Bottlerock and many other festivals followed as did performances on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan and a stint as the SXSW House band for Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live (Bravo).

    Wyclef Jean
    Musician
The music that Wyclef Jean has written, performed, and produced — both as a solo superstar and as founder and guiding member of the Fugees — has been a consistently powerful, pop cultural force for over two decades.

In 1996, the Fugees released their monumental album The Score , which inspired notoriously prickly rock critic Robert Christgau to write: ``so beautiful and funny, its courage could make you weep.” The album, created in Wyclef’s studio in his uncle’s basement in New Jersey, hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned a trio of smash singles (including their indelible reinvention of Roberta Flack’s 1973 ballad “Killing Me Softly”), and is now certified six times platinum.

But Wyclef, a child prodigy with a wealth of musical influences from jazz to classic rock to reggae, resisted the pressure to duplicate the sound and style of that masterwork. Instead, he launched himself as a producer and solo artist whose work drew from an innovative and eclectic palette that included elements of pop, country, folk, disco, Latin, and electronic music.
